About

We help teams replace guesswork and manual effort with systems they trust.

Kin Systems is Macie and Ethan — an operations lead and a technical lead. That pairing is the whole point: someone who can see how the work should flow, and someone who can build the thing that makes it flow that way.

Our mission

We help small businesses spend less time fighting their own systems. That means sitting down with the people doing the work, being straight with you about what's worth fixing, and building the tools that make the fix stick — tools that belong to you when we're done.

No jargon, no long contracts, no pretending a slide deck is progress.

Everyone's welcome here

Kin Systems is open to all and an ally to everyone. Whoever you are, however your brain works, whoever you love, wherever you came from — you'll be treated with respect and plain honesty at our table. We build for the way real people work, not one narrow idea of “normal.”

What we believe

  • Clarity first

You can't automate a process nobody can describe. We make the current state visible before we change anything.

  • Reliability over novelty

We pick the boring, dependable approach unless something newer genuinely earns its place.

  • Practical automation

Automate the repetitive and rules-based. Keep people where judgment, care, and relationships matter.

  • Collaboration, not hand-off

We build with the people who'll use the tool. If they weren't involved, it won't get used.

  • Say the real thing

Plain language, honest timelines, and an early heads-up when something isn't working.

How we work

Small first version, fast. We build something real and useful early and put it in front of your team. Watching people use it beats a perfect plan.

Iterative. Work happens in short cycles with visible progress. You're never waiting months to find out whether it's going the right way.

Transparent. Clear scope, clear pricing, and regular updates in plain language. If something is going to take longer or cost more, you hear it from us early.

Value-based pricing. We price against the outcome and scope rather than pushing every client into the same package.

Why Kin Systems

  • We don't stop at recommendations. Plenty of firms will map your processes and leave. We stay and build what the map says you need.
  • You get the founders, every time. The two people you meet on the fit call are the two people doing the work. Nothing gets handed to someone you've never met.
  • Adoption is part of the job. Training and documentation are included, not upsold. A tool nobody uses is a failed project.
  • You own what we build. The tools, the accounts, the data, and the documentation are yours — set up in your name from day one. We'll keep maintaining them if that's easier for you, but you can take the keys and walk at any time, and we'll help you do it.

Who you'll work with

Two complementary strengths, one engagement. You work with both of us.

Macie

Operations, Admin & Client Enablement

Macie leads the operations side: sitting down with your team, mapping how work actually flows, untangling admin and finance processes, and making sure teams are set up to run new systems confidently after we hand over. Spends most of their time asking the questions nobody's had time to ask.

  • Process design
  • Finance & admin ops
  • Training & enablement
  • Engagement planning

Ethan

Technical Builds & Implementation

Ethan leads the technical side: internal tools, integrations, data pipelines, and AI-assisted workflows. Biased toward shipping something small and real early, then improving it with feedback from actual use rather than guessing in a spec document.

  • Custom internal tools
  • Systems integration
  • Automation & AI
  • Data & reporting
